Wood Announces He Will Not Seek Re-Election
OKLAHOMA CITY –State Rep. Justin Wood announced today that he will not be seeking a second term in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
“This was an emotional decision for my family, and I will truly miss representing the people of my hometown,” said Wood, R-Shawnee. “I am missing so much of my wife and our three children. It is time for me to refocus on my family. I do not believe that my time in public service is over. This privilege of service has never been about me, and I don’t want my decision to not file to be about me. Shawnee is my home, and I look forward to continuing to serve in any role needed.
“I will miss my fellow legislators, and I wish them nothing but the best as we finish this session and head into campaign season.”
Wood serves as Vice Chair of the House Higher Education & Career Tech Committee and is an Assistant Majority Whip. He serves as the director of the Shawnee office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma.
