Candidate filing starts Wednesday
(Oklahoma City) – The 2016 candidate filing period for state and federal offices is scheduled for April 13-15 at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City, State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax said Monday.
Filing will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday in the north hall of the Capitol’s second floor outside Room 230. Races on the ballot include all five of Oklahoma’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, one of the state’s U.S. Senate seats, a Corporation Commission seat, and dozens of legislative offices.
All 101 State House of Representatives seats are on the ballot, along with 24 odd-numbered State Senate seats and the unexpired term for State Senator, District 12.
County voters will elect clerks, court clerks, sheriffs and district 2 commissioners in 2016. Candidates for those offices will file at their respective county election boards.
