REPUBLICAN CHAIRMAN SAYS DEMOCRAT LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES MUST RELEASE STANCE ON OIL & GAS INDUSTRY
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, October 23, 2020 – With an estimated 90,000 Oklahoma jobs directly tied to the oil and natural gas industry, Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman David McLain said today Oklahoma voters deserve to know if Democrat candidates seeking election or reelection to the Oklahoma State Legislature support Oklahoma’s leading economic driver.
“In light of Joe Biden’s shocking statement at the end of last evening’s presidential debate that he would ‘transition away from oil in the U.S.’, it is vitally important that Oklahoma voters know if Democrat candidates for the Oklahoma Legislature share their presidential nominee’s irresponsible stance,” McLain said.
“In Washington, we already know that Oklahoma Fifth District Democrat Rep. Kendra Horn shares Joe Biden’s opinion and does not support America’s oil and natural gas industry. Her congressional voting record proves it. However, there has been dead silence during the campaign season among Democratic candidates for the state Senate and House on this extremely important subject. With less than two weeks until election day, are these candidates going to inform Oklahomans whether they support our state’s oil and gas industry, or do they support Joe Biden’s call which would decimate the industry in Oklahoma and across the country? It is a very important question that Oklahoma voters have the right to know from Democrat legislative candidates. I call on them and Oklahoma Democratic Party leadership to make their stance known today.”
