Former Oklahoma Attorney General and EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is out with a web ad for his [somewhat surprising, late-entry] U.S. Senate campaign.
Pruitt was the [checks notes] tenth of thirteen Republicans to file in the special election to replace retiring Senator Jim Inhofe. The field includes heavyweights such as Congressman Markwayne Mullin, former State House Speaker T.W. Shannon, State Sen. Nathan Dahm, and Inhofe's chief-of-staff Luke Holland (Dahm and Holland have lower name recognition, but each have significant financial boosting; Inhofe connections for Holland, and Rand Paul-affiliated groups for Dahm).
The Pruitt ad begins with: "Winston Churchill said, 'You got enemies? Good. That means you stood up for something.' As a member of President Trump's Cabinet, I had enemies — New York Times, Washington Post. They think they canceled me. But guess what? I'm back."
